THE FAQ

Questions about
the questions.

Practical answers for using the site alone or with others.

Does the canvas tell me which option is right?

No. It helps you surface assumptions and missing information. You make the decision. For consequential choices, consult qualified experts and affected people.

Where are my answers saved?

Only in the local browser on this device when you press save. The site does not send them to a server. Local storage can disappear if you clear browser data.

Can I use the workshop plan with my team?

Yes. Start with a clearly stated decision, a facilitator and a time limit. Share the resulting decision and reasons with the people who need to act on it.

Are the thought experiments tests of intelligence?

No. They are intentionally incomplete situations meant to reveal what you would ask before deciding. There is no grade.

How should I use the bias guide?

As a prompt for your own reasoning. A short card cannot establish why another person thinks or acts as they do.

What if I need to decide immediately?

Set a deadline, identify the most consequential unknown, consider downside and reversibility, and get the right advice. Not every situation allows a small experiment.
